(March 2004) Brigitte DeMeyer - an ambitious singer/songwriter from the California Bay area. DeMeyer released her debut CD appropriately titled Another Thousand Miles in 2000. The CD was well received and illustrates DeMeyer's self produced studio effort in a nicely arranged collection of original tunes.
DeMeyer has traveled more than another thousand miles opening concerts for several well known artists and released Nothing Comes Free in 2003. On Nothing Comes Free, DeMeyer expounds on her folk/roots/rock writing and introduces subtle blues influences. DeMeyer co-produced her second release with engineer Cookie Marenco and delivers a solid performance -- each tune complimenting the whole. The entire CD makes for very enjoyable listening -- By Your Side, Brother of Mine, Roll 'Em Easy, and the title track, Nothing Comes Free are certainly worthy of special mention.
Brigitte DeMeyer's music is accompanied on the road and in the studio by the talented fretwork of long time friend and musician Chris Rossbach. DeMeyer is currently in the studio working on her next project -- visit brigittedemeyer.com for updated info and future tour schedules.

"Essentially it is a live recording - a moment in time in a dynamic process of discovery. There is something so exciting about recording a song that is new or one that becomes new with the addition of another player. Make no mistake it is a risky kind of recording." - KJ Denhert
"Denhert and Falcon together... art in motion - a masterpiece!"

Entertaining -- not afraid to be a bit quirky at times -- Seen A Ghost is amiable listening. "Rumor Has It" is my obvious choice as a radio hit. There's a hint of Beatles influence in a few of their songs, and Tommy Borscheid's lap steel guitar adds some smooth country inflections for good measure. All in all, Honey Dogs have carved their own nitche in the genre of alternative music. "Twitch" and "Cut Me Loose, Napoleon" finds the band cranking things up a bit -- bringing song variety full circle.

The group known as moe[.] originated several years ago in New York. In recent years the group has secured a loyal following around the country. Their music immediately brings to mind such groups as Bob Weir's RatDog -- their philosophy is very similar in many ways also -- encouraging fans to promote their music through performance recordings swapped via the Internet and amongst friends. The idea has merit and has certainly created a huge fan based for the group.
This is dance music ... or is it? It really doesn't matter -- perhaps of more importance is the over all experience of sight and sound as fans dance in the aisles to each song. On stage, moe[.] unleases an inventive and everchanging collection of originals -- think of their music as jazz inflections in the figurative sense yet very much roots rock in the literal sense. One thing for certain ... their music ... and their personalities ... are infectious.

Lead singer Scott Levesque's voice is in top form on Wheat's third release and the performances are invigorating. I Met A Girl recounts a spirited tale of missed chance -- clearing the way for an up tempo venture that packs a punch. Hey, So Long (Ohio) provides a curious and melodic break with it's recurrent vocals and tonal qualities. Each track performed with avidity -- the textured depth of instruments and harmonies on World United Already indicate a band ready to soar. Per Second, Per Second, Per Second ... (April 2004) Victrola for Sale is a stark reminder that rock music is alive and kickin' in the twentieth century. The CD introduces original compositions steeped in rock tradition yet seasoned with an inventive approach to alternative rock. Wheelhorse emerged from a network of deep roots whose underground branches absorbed the nutriments of diverse musical influences. The band has been around for ten years -- the current lineup has been together for two years. The music of Wheelhorse refuses to be pigeonholed into any one genre -- textures of alternative, blues, country and rock are melded together like the strike of a blacksmith's hammer. Wheelhorse has proven noteworthy per getting it right -- having refined their artistry before recording the debut.
Their musicianship, vocals and arrangements take on a unique blend of originality. Listening to Victrola for Sale for the first time is like taking a ride in an old classic with brand new shocks -- there's something familiar about it yet the ride is different. I highly recommend taking Wheelhorse for a test drive ... Victrola for Sale hugs the road, corners well and the ride is music to your ears.
