Rules of the Race
The race is a hare-n-hound event.  There is no speed as the word "race" implies.
The hare is the lead balloon and it will have a ten minute head start.
The other balloons are the hounds.  They will fly as close as they can to the lead balloon's route.

Hit the "X" and Win the Money
The hare balloon eventually lands and places a giant "X" on the ground
for the hound balloons to fly over and drop a cloth bag with three ounces of grass seed in it.
The closest to the target wins.  The most recent winner won by 4 feet and 4 inches.
In 2001, the winner was only 13 inches away from the center of the "X" for one of the closest ever.
